Lincoln was born with a rare diaphragm defect known as right-sided Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) on May 26th, 2011. We were told that Lincoln had little more than 50% chance of survival. Linc fought hard for his life in the beginning, coming very close to losing his life. After 83 days in the NICU, Lincoln came home to us. He remains strong and stubborn, and is now a happy, healthy one year old. This blog documents his life.

One Month Off
Yesterday marked four weeks since Lincoln has been completely off of oxygen! There is still a chance of needing to go back on in the future in the case of a bad respiratory infection. But, as of now, Lincoln is doing extremely well! Linc's neonatologist wanted to give him time to be sure he was going to stay off before we returned his tanks, concentrator and monitor. Well, the medical equipment company came today and picked up all of our equipment and tanks! Now I don't even have a monitor to read Lincoln's saturations! He's doing so well! Yay, Lincoln!
